Care in
this department.

Surgical consultations and procedures across urology, gynaecological and other surgical care, supported by two operating theatres. Your assessment brings together the surgeon, anaesthesia team and nursing colleagues needed for your procedure.

01

Urology & men’s health

Prostate disease, urinary stones, bladder conditions, male infertility and sexual dysfunction. Prof. Christian Kofi Gyasi-Sarpong provides specialist urological assessment and care.

02

Gynaecological & other surgery

Fibroid surgery, Caesarean delivery and amputations are among the procedures provided at the hospital. The appropriate specialist team is assigned to the procedure.

03

Preparation, admission & recovery

Your surgeon and clinical team explain the procedure, consent, preparation and aftercare. The hospital does not administer blood transfusions; discuss the implications and any referral needs before a planned operation.

Planning your visit

Know before you go.

  1. Bring the referral, relevant reports and a list of medicines for your clinical consultation.
  2. Your surgical consultation establishes the proposed procedure, responsible specialist, anaesthesia and recovery arrangements. The team will explain whether care here or referral is appropriate for your individual needs.
  3. Follow only the individual instructions given by the responsible clinical and anaesthetic teams; this website does not supply fasting or medicine-change instructions.

Theatre nurses

Before a procedure begins, our theatre nurses help patients feel prepared and supported. Working closely with surgeons and anaesthesia colleagues, they prepare the operating environment, support care during procedures and help coordinate the handover for recovery. Their attention to detail and compassionate approach reflect the personal care at the heart of Atasemanso Hospital.
