Our approach

Respect for your choices.
Clear conversations about care.

Atasemanso Hospital does not administer blood transfusions.

This approach is important to patients who decline transfusions for religious or personal reasons, including Jehovah’s Witnesses. We encourage you to discuss your beliefs and treatment preferences directly with your clinical team.

Each person’s needs must be assessed individually. Your clinician should discuss the available treatment options, risks, limitations and any referral that may be needed. Not every condition or procedure can be managed without transfusion, and this approach does not remove the risks of an illness, childbirth or surgery.

Before planned treatment or travel, speak with the hospital to confirm whether the care you need can appropriately be provided here. Treatment decisions and consent are discussed with the clinical team, rather than through the website information guide.
