Consultation Booking
Terms & Conditions

Clear fees, a clear arrival plan and care led by clinical need.

Version 1 · 1 November 2026

Your selected time is for check-in and sample preparation.

It is not a guaranteed doctor start time. Routine in-person consultation and the FBC/urinalysis package total GH₵350. Emergencies take priority.

1. What your booking reserves

A routine in-person booking is with Atasemanso Hospital, not a named doctor. Your selected time is your scheduled check-in and sample-preparation time. It is not a guaranteed time to enter the consulting room or finish your visit. The doctor on duty provides the consultation.

These arrangements also apply when reception records a routine consultation visit by telephone. Specialist and virtual consultations have the separate arrangements below.

2. Fees and the routine laboratory pathway

The routine in-person booking pathway includes the hospital’s mandatory full blood count (FBC) and urinalysis package. FBC uses a blood sample; urinalysis uses a urine sample. The clinical team oversees testing and explains the procedure. Tell staff about recent results or any concern about providing a sample so the responsible clinician can advise. Booking acceptance does not replace consent to an examination or test.

Other laboratory investigations, imaging, medicines, procedures, specialist care and any applicable registration charges are not included in the GH₵350 pathway unless expressly stated. The hospital will explain additional charges before the relevant service. Insurance benefits and authorisation depend on the patient’s policy; NHIS is not accepted.

The in-person laboratory package does not automatically apply to a virtual consultation. Tests needed after a virtual visit are arranged and charged separately.

3. Arrival, verification and the care queue

Report to the main hospital reception with your booking confirmation or reference and your hospital card if you have one. Staff verify the booking and payment record, complete registration, arrange vitals and direct you for the required samples and investigations.

The clinical team manages the consultation queue according to urgency, time of arrival and completion of the necessary preparation and investigations. A walk-in patient who arrived earlier and has completed those steps may be seen before a patient with an online booking. An online booking does not guarantee priority over other patients or remove waiting time.

Laboratory hours are Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm; Saturday, 8am–3pm; Sunday, closed. A late arrival may leave insufficient time for samples and results. Reception will confirm the appropriate arrangements. Do not fast or stop medication unless the clinical team specifically instructs you.

4. Emergencies, delays and changes to care

Emergency and clinically urgent cases take priority. A doctor may need to pause routine consultations to attend an emergency. Complex cases, the readiness of results, equipment interruptions and unexpected staffing changes can also affect waiting times and the order of care.

The hospital will take reasonable steps to explain significant delays, provide updated guidance and arrange appropriate continuing care or another visit where necessary. A delay does not by itself cancel the consultation or create a promise of a fixed finishing time.

Urgent assessment must not wait for an online booking, routine samples or the completion of online payment. For urgent care, come to the main hospital or call a published hospital urgent care number.

5. Visiting specialist consultations

Visiting specialist surgical consultations typically cost GH₵500–700. The exact consultation fee, specialist, location and date must be agreed with the hospital before payment or travel. The price range is not a fixed quotation and does not include an operation, admission or investigations unless expressly included in the written arrangements.

Visiting specialists are not continuously available. Submitting an enquiry does not reserve their attendance. Wait for the hospital’s specific confirmation. If arrangements change, the team will contact you about an alternative.

6. Virtual consultations

A virtual consultation is a scheduled discussion with an available hospital doctor and costs GH₵200. Call reception on 032 202 6251 to arrange a session. Online virtual booking and online payment are not currently available. The team must confirm doctor availability, the time, payment arrangements and the connection method before you rely on a session being booked. An enquiry does not mean a consultation has been accepted. The routine in-person FBC and urinalysis package is not automatically charged for a virtual visit; any additional recommended services and charges will be explained beforehand.

The hospital will confirm the video method, such as Cal Video, Google Meet or a hospital-arranged WhatsApp video call. Use only the joining details provided for your confirmed session. If the connection method changes, the team will explain which link or number to use. A scheduled session window is an allocation of time, not a guarantee of a particular clinical outcome.

Virtual care is not appropriate for every condition and does not provide a physical examination, immediate laboratory testing or emergency treatment. The doctor may recommend an in-person assessment, investigations or referral. No particular diagnosis, prescription or outcome is guaranteed.

At the start, the patient and doctor identify themselves. The patient provides their current location, a callback number and relevant accurate information, and confirms consent to the remote consultation. A parent, guardian or appropriate representative should assist a patient who cannot consent or participate independently. The hospital will confirm whether it can provide care for a patient’s location.

Use a private place and a reliable connection. Do not share the meeting link. The hospital does not routinely record calls; any proposed recording requires a separate explanation and appropriate consent. A booking checkbox is not permission to record.

If the connection fails, the team will try the agreed callback method or offer another arrangement. Clinical advice and follow-up are documented by the treating team. If symptoms become urgent, seek in-person emergency care rather than waiting for the call.

7. Payment and booking confirmation

A calendar booking or email acknowledgement is not a payment receipt. Pay only through a payment channel confirmed by the hospital. Where an online payment facility is offered, follow its instructions; do not send card details, passwords, PINs or payment codes through email, WhatsApp or booking notes.

Your booking email states whether the visit is confirmed or still awaiting acceptance. Wait for confirmation before relying on the time. Visiting specialist and virtual sessions need the specific confirmation described above.

Keep your receipt and booking reference. Reception verifies payment against the hospital’s records; a screenshot or reference by itself is not proof that funds have been received. Any prepayment is allocated to the stated service and must not be charged a second time for the same service.

8. Cancellations, unused payments and complaints about charges

If you cannot attend or expect to arrive late, contact reception as soon as possible. Use an available cancellation or rescheduling link in your booking email, then confirm any payment arrangements with the hospital. Changing a calendar entry does not automatically process a refund or transfer a payment.

If an emergency causes a delay but the consultation can still take place, your booking and payment remain allocated to that visit unless another arrangement is agreed. If the hospital cannot provide a paid service, contact reception to arrange another suitable visit or a refund of the amount attributable to the service not provided. Completed consultations, tests and other services are accounted for separately.

No automatic cancellation penalty, no-show forfeiture or blanket “no refunds” rule is imposed by this notice. Any additional cancellation condition must be explained and agreed before payment and remain subject to applicable law. Duplicate or incorrect charges should be reported promptly for investigation.

9. Booking information and privacy

Cal.com handles information entered in its booking service. Hospital appointments staff and authorised clinical staff use the minimum details needed to coordinate your care. Calendar invitations and reminders may appear on devices connected to the relevant accounts.

Use the booking form for contact and scheduling details. Do not upload medical records, identity documents or detailed medical histories through a general booking or enquiry. The clinical team will explain the appropriate way to provide clinical information.

Video and messaging providers process information under their own terms. The hospital remains responsible for its own confidentiality and data-handling duties. Read our Privacy informationBooking Terms & Conditions for the current website arrangements. Terms acceptance is separate from optional marketing consent and consent to clinical care.

10. Responsibilities, legal rights and resolution of concerns

Patients should provide accurate information, follow the clinical team’s preparation instructions, respect other patients and staff, and tell staff promptly about worsening symptoms or an inability to follow the care plan.

The hospital will exercise reasonable care and skill. These terms explain the practical limits of scheduling and remote care; they do not excuse negligent care, fraud or a failure to meet obligations that cannot lawfully be excluded. Nothing in these terms waives patients’ rights under applicable Ghanaian law or the Patient’s Charter.

For a booking, payment or care concern, contact reception on 032 202 6251 and ask for the responsible clinician or hospital administration as appropriate. You may also use the feedback and complaints route. The hospital will review the concern; this process does not prevent a patient from using an appropriate regulator or legal remedy.

Ghanaian law applies, subject to any mandatory rights that apply to the patient. If a term is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply to the extent permitted by law. Material changes apply prospectively; a later website update does not silently change the agreed price or conditions of an existing paid booking.
