Care in
this department.

Nursing care connects patients and families with support across the male, female and children’s wards, special wards and the hospital annex.

01

Across our wards

Shared male and female wards are available, alongside special wards for patients seeking more privacy. Washrooms and toilets are available for patients. The annex mainly provides additional special wards.

02

Family & visitors

Family may visit at any time, with no fixed numerical limit. Please check with the ward nurse first: visits may need to wait while a patient is sleeping, resting or receiving care. Children may visit under the same ward visiting arrangements. In maternity and children’s wards, visits are for close family and other visitors authorised by the patient or family.

03

Preparing to go home

Discharge is arranged when the treating doctor confirms that you are ready to leave. The team explains discharge instructions and any follow-up needed, while administration completes billing and payment arrangements as part of the discharge process.

Planning your visit

Know before you go.

  1. Admission is arranged following a doctor’s assessment when inpatient care is needed. The ward team coordinates your admission and accommodation.
  2. Relatives may stay overnight. Speak with the ward nurse about the practical arrangements for the patient’s room.
  3. Discharge is arranged when the treating doctor confirms that you are ready to leave. The team explains discharge instructions and any follow-up needed, while administration completes billing and payment arrangements as part of the discharge process.
